Recent research from Hitwise UK shows that Halloween is the biggest driver of traffic to fancy dress websites this year. Joke.co.uk is the most popular fancy dress retailer and has seen a 25% increase in visits since Halloween 2007. Batman seems to be the theme for this Halloween, with the most popular specific costume search being ‘joker costume’, and searches for ‘batman costume’ and ‘catwoman costume’ coming in the top 10 for the week ending 18/10/08.
