Comic Relief and TK Maxx

In the lead up to Comic Relief's Red Nose day 09 (Mar 13th), UK traffic to both rednoseday.com and comicrelief.com has increased. For the week ending 28/02/09, 'red nose day t shirts' was the 5th most popular search term containing 'red nose day', and the 4th most popular search term driving traffic to the Red Nose Day - Shop website. For the same period Red Nose Day - Shop contributed the 3rd largest amount of traffic (5.4%) to TK Maxx , the exclusive seller of Stella McCartney's Red Nose Day t-shirt range. The search term 'comic relief' was also the first non-branded term driving traffic to TK Maxx.

Visits to RSPB increase for Big Garden Birdwatch.

Recent research from Hitwise UK shows visits to rspb.org.uk increased by 166% during the week ending 26 January as The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds encouraged people to join the annual Big Garden Birdwatch. Just over 14% of the traffic to the site came from the BBC website.

Freerice.com number 1 Humanitarian site.

According to Hitwise UK, a website that donates rice for every word definiton guessed correctly www.freerice.com ranked at #1 for the week ending 17th November capturing one in 8 visits to the Humanitarian category. Facebook was the 3rd largest driver of traffic to the site behind Google & BBC News.

Children in Need highest peak in 2 years.

Recent research from Hitwise UK shows searches for "children in need" were at their highest in 2 years last week, and that visits to the BBC Pudsey website were 23% higher for the week ending 17th November than the same week last year.
