Recent research from Hitwise UK reveals that since the week ending 6th September there has been a 600% increase in searches for 'old facebook'. This reflects recent changes made to the layout of Facebook a few weeks ago and an increasing desire for the old Facebook layout to return. Many of the recent searches for 'old Facebook' have been 'how to get old facebook back'. Interestingly 1 in 20 searches for 'old facebook' have resulted in people visiting an online petition site, petitiononline.com. From the first week of September Facebook became the number one driver of traffic to the site, accounting for 37% of the upstream traffic after overtaking Google who only account for 11%.
