Rove, Bruno and Ruddy

The Rove show received the second-highest television ratings since it first aired on Channel Ten, with the appearance of Kevin Rudd and Bruno (aka Sacha Baron Cohen). In line with this, the Rove Daily website (www.rovedaily.com.au) also peaked in visits online, increasing its market share by 14.3% on 28/06/2009 compared to the previous Sunday in the Television category. The spike in visits to Rove Daily also overflowed to Kevin Rudd’s website - Prime Minister of Australia's Homepage (www.pm.gov.au) which received 17.77% of its upstream traffic to from the Rove Daily website for that day - Go Ruddy! Four Corners and MasterChef Cook Up a Storm In TV Land

‘Four Corners’ and ‘MasterChef’ were the hot topics in TV land for the week ending 16/05/2009, with search terms relating to the two shows accounting for 8 out of the top 10 fastest moving search terms to the Hitwise Australia Television – Programmes industry.

Their two respective sites also had significant upwards movement, with the Four Corners website (www.abc.net.au/4corners) becoming the second most popular programme online, jumping 29 places from the previous week and the MasterChef Australia website (www.masterchef.com.au) debuting in the rankings at number three for the week ending 16/05/2009. I Dream a Dream Becomes A Reality

According to Hitwise New Zealand, the website for ITV - Britain’s Got Talent (talent.itv.com) moved 683 places to rank 78 in the Entertainment – Television industry during the week ending 18/04/2009. Interest in Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle sparked a 60-fold increase in visits by New Zealanders to the show’s website that week. The unassuming Scottish contestant became an instant world-wide sensation when she sang I Dream A Dream from Les Misérables on 11/04/2009. The term ‘susan boyle’ featured within the top 10 search terms driving traffic to ITV – Britain’s Got Talent and was the fastest moving search term by relative increase in All Categories during the week ending 18/04/2009. Hitwise Australia reports that for the rolling 4 weeks ending 1 March 2008, ‘so you think you can dance’ was the most popular search term driving Australian Internet users to Television - Programmes websites, accounting for 2.59% of searches to the industry. According to Hitwise Singapore, the Deal or No Deal game show website (dealornodeal.mediacorptv.sg) was a fast mover for the week ending 19/01/2008, moving up 34 places from 54th to become the 20th most popular Entertainment – Television website. Older Australians Dance With The Stars
