According to Hitwise Singapore, based on search term data driving traffic to the Health and Medical – Information industry, ‘dengue fever’, ‘chicken pox’, ‘pregnancy’ and ‘depression’ were among the most commonly searched-for medical conditions, as of the 24 week period ending 24/11/2007. AsiaOne Health (health.asiaone.com) assumed the #1 position in the Health and Medical – Information industry during the week ending 24/11/2007, displacing previous #1 websites www.medicinenet.com and www.hpb.gov.sg, after experiencing a 64% increase in market share of visits. Smoking Laws Prompt ‘Quit’ Searches

With the new laws banning smoking in pubs and clubs in Victoria coming into effect on July 1st, Hitwise Australia reports that online searches for the term ‘quit smoking’ increased by over 50% during the week ending 30/06/07. Other popular search terms utilized by Australian internet users included ‘quit line’, ‘quit smoking cold turkey’ and ‘quit smoking support’.
