Since the shows first airing on 27 April 2009, the weekly market share of traffic to this category consisting largely of recipe websites has grown by 61% (comparing weeks ending 02/05/2009 and 18/07/2009).
Visits to the MasterChef website peaked in its final week and captured the lead from perennial favourite Taste.com.au for the first time (for the week ending 18/07/09). On the back of this heightened interest however, Taste.com.au and the number three website Best Recipes have achieved healthy increases of their own with both receiving significant year-on-year market share gains (in All Categories) of 51% and 125% respectively (comparing the weeks ending 19/07/2008 and 18/07/2009).
