Radio New Zealand (www.radionz.co.nz) experienced an increase in market share of over 350% between the weeks ending 3 November and 24 November 2007, to become the most popular website in the Entertainment - Radio industry. Radio NZ derived much of its traffic from Search Engines (31.79%), while the Net Communities and Chat industry accounted for only 2.91% of traffic for the week ending 24/11/2007. According to Hitwise Australia, the MOSAIC audience segment most likely to visit celebrity personality websites is Raising Expectations who are best described as "comfortable outer suburban families in affordable homes". Top celebrity websites visited by this segment include www.perezhilton.com, celebrities.ninemsn.com.au, and tmz.com. According to Hitwise Hong Kong, as of week ending 15/09/07, Think Silly (www.think-silly.com) which features blogs of Hong Kong’s entertainment industry icons became the number one website in the ‘Entertainment – Celebrities’ industry, overtaking iLoveSuper (www.ilovesuper.com) which had previously held the number one ranking for the past 6 weeks (04/08/08 to 08/09/07). In anticipation of the release of the latest Harry Potter film, Australian Harry Potter fans headed online, with searches for the term ‘harry potter’ increasing by 265% between weeks ending 16/06/07 and 14/07/07. According to Hitwise Australia data search term data as of the four week period ending July 14, 2007 , the term ‘harry potter’ was the 4th most popular search term to refer traffic to websites in the ‘Entertainment – Movies’ industry behind the terms hoyts, greater union and village cinemas, accounting for 1.32% of all visits to the category.

Hitwise New Zealand reports that the photo sharing website Flickr (www.flickr.com) has almost doubled its market share amongst Entertainment websites visited by New Zealand internet users in the past 15 months. At January 2006 www.flickr.com had 0.51% of the industry’s market share, but as of June 2007 the site now has 0.94% market share- that’s an increase of over 84%.

According to Hitwise Australia, visits to the Entertainment - Multimedia category have more than doubled in the past 12 months, climbing from 0.73% in April 2006 to 1.54% in April 2007. The major performer in the industry has been YouTube, increasing its market share from 7.74% to almost 40%. Other sites trailing YouTube include Google Video, which has remained steady at roughly 4%, and MySpace Videos, which has slightly increased its market share from 2.22% to 3.92%.
