Julie, Poh and Co. Whip Up a Cooking Frenzy

On the back of the enormous impact Julie, Poh and the rest of the MasterChef crew have had on Australia’s culinary psyche, the Hitwise Food and Beverage - Lifestyle and Reference category received its highest share of trafiic. Since the shows first airing on 27 April 2009, the weekly market share of traffic to this category consisting largely of recipe websites has grown by 61% (comparing weeks ending 02/05/2009 and 18/07/2009).

Visits to the MasterChef website peaked in its final week and captured the lead from perennial favourite Taste.com.au for the first time (for the week ending 18/07/09). On the back of this heightened interest however, Taste.com.au and the number three website Best Recipes have achieved healthy increases of their own with both receiving significant year-on-year market share gains (in All Categories) of 51% and 125% respectively (comparing the weeks ending 19/07/2008 and 18/07/2009).
