Emma Watson Hogwarts the Limelight

Despite all of his wizardly powers it seems Harry Potter is having trouble hogging all the limelight leading up to New Zealand’s blockbuster premiere with weekly search term share of traffic to All Categories for ‘Emma Watson’ surging over 300% for the week ending 11/07/2009. Searches for the female lead were in fact on a par with ‘harry potter’ and six times more than those for ‘Daniel Radcliffe’.
The heightened interest in ‘emma watson’, was highlighted in the search term’s downstream websites. Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org) accounted for over 20% of all traffic from searches for the young star, followed by www.emmawatsonofficial.com (9.11%), and emma-watson.net (6.83%), for the 12 weeks ending 11/07/2009.
