According to Hitwise New Zealand, over the 12 weeks ending 8 December 2007, of all the search terms typed into search engines that lead Internet users to websites in the Travel – Destinations and Accommodation industry, ‘wotif’ was the most popular. Other popular search terms directing traffic to the Travel – Destinations and Accommodation industry included ‘auckland zoo’, ‘grab a seat’, ‘rotorua’, holiday homes’ and ‘rainbows end’. For the week ending 8 December 2007, 55.5% of traffic to the Travel – Destinations and Accommodation industry was directed to local sites. For the same week, the average visit time for this industry was 7 minutes and 11 seconds. Now you know.
