Smoking Laws Prompt ‘Quit’ Searches

With the new laws banning smoking in pubs and clubs in Victoria coming into effect on July 1st, Hitwise Australia reports that online searches for the term ‘quit smoking’ increased by over 50% during the week ending 30/06/07. Other popular search terms utilized by Australian internet users included ‘quit line’, ‘quit smoking cold turkey’ and ‘quit smoking support’.
