Steve Irwin 2nd most searched for term in Australia
Following the tributes for Steve Irwin over the last couple of weeks, I thought I'd show on Hitwise just how much the Crocodile Hunter permeated the Australian consciousness, appearing as the second most popular search term for the 4 weeks ending September 23, 2006. To put this in context, there were 5,268,079 search terms measured by Hitwise in this period.

You'll also notice that motor racing driver 'Peter Brock' was the 14th most searched term, reflective of how much Australians mourned his death. It's been a sombre few weeks here for Aussie icons..
