Travellers like to shop for Computers

Hitwise industry charting can often show some unexpected but meaningful results. Have a look at this chart of Shopping & Classifieds - Computers websites and Travel - Destinations & Accommodation sites my colleague, Emily Vernon discovered.

Computer retail typically increases during the Australian holiday period in December and January, as does online travel research. This chart shows however that spikes in both categories are generally mirroring each other over the whole year. So, you could make the conclusion that those that travel frequently are also in the market for buying computers online. This supports US and UK Lifestyle Demographic data supplied by Mosaic and Prizm that indicate a preference by travellers in the high income bracket for electronic products, as early adopters of technology.
