With snow up and down the country it’s little wonder that Brits are thinking of warmer climes and wanting to get away for winter sun holidays.

One of the insights to come out of our latest quarterly travel report is that Goa and Marrakech are the fastest moving destinations of the quarter.

Between August and October 2010 there was a significant increase in the volume of searches for flights to both Goa and Marrakech. Goa in India was the fastest moving destination of the quarter, jumping 22 places since July. Morocco’s “Red City” Marrakech was the fastest moving destination of the year, leaping 29 places since October 2009.
Another winter sun destination that was popular this quarter was Egypt’s Sharm el Sheikh. Perennial favourites the Canary Islands had another strong quarter with Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria both featuring in the fast movers list. Winter sun holidaymakers also favoured fellow Canary Islands Tenerife and Lanzarote which were both in the top 10 most popular destinations. The list of the top 50 destinations is included below:

New York saw impressive growth at the top of our list and increased its market share from 3.89% of the total flights searches to 4.64%. New York is always a popular family holiday destination and with Christmas shoppers able to get some significant discounts in New York this year, the Big Apple has become even more popular. The rise in business travel has also helped New York consolidate its position as the most popular destination for UK Internet searches.

Nice detailed articles but if I may suggest, you need to bring some imagery to draw attention better, too much literature makes it hard to focus and grab interest. Just my 2 cents.
