Moshi Monsters

March 25, 2010

A couple of days ago we provided some data for this Evening Standard article about the success of Moshi Monsters, the fast growing children’s / games website. Traffic to the site has increased more than five-fold over the last 12 months, and it now ranks sixth within our Entertainment – Games category. As the chart below illustrates, Moshi Monsters is starting to catch up with Disney’s Club Penguin, the most popular Children’s site in the UK (and itself a growth property).

The site is also succeeding in attracting relatively affluent visitors – or at least visitors with affluent parents! As the chart below illustrates, the most over-represented Experian Mosaic type visiting the site during the last 4 weeks was Soccer Dads and Mums (defined as ‘Parents of school age children, owning large recently built detatched houses with mortgages funded by the successful careers’), while they were followed by Escape to the Country and Serious Money.

If you're interested in finding out more about Experian Mosaic, you can listen to our recent webinar on the topic here. (Please note that, unfortunately, due to a technical fault the first couple of minutes of the recording are missing)
