« Cyber Monday: pre-Christmas online retail peak moves a week closer to Christmas | Will Rage Against the Machine beat X Factor winner Joe McElderry to the Christmas number one spot? »
Another guest post from Experian Hitwise Client Intelligence Analyst Richard Seymour updating our data from last weeks X Factor predictions
Looking at the data from the week ending 5th December, after the Final 4 live show we can see that Joe McElderry has continued as the most searched for contestant with a 6% increase in searches for the portfolio of Joe McElderry terms. Stacey Solomon pipped Olly to be the 2nd most searched for, after a 14% increase in searches for the only female contestant last week. This all means that, according to our search data, it looks like Olly will be leaving the show on Saturday night.

With fansites, we see the same order as last week, but visits to Joe’s fansites have increased more than Stacey’s to close the gap slightly.

As mentioned last week, Newcastle upon Tyne had been under-represented in visits to the X Factor website over the past few weeks, but this table shows that there was a 5% increase in visits to the X Factor site by users in the NE postal area, resulting in their highest over-index since the live shows began.
So all in all, our prediction is further backed up by this week’s data and it looks like the Joe bandwagon has been put in motion, with Stacey second. However, who knows what impact Robbie Williams, George Michael, and Michael Buble can have on the night!
