UK Internet visits to One & Other, the website that is streaming live webcam footage from Antony Gormley's art installation on Trafalgar square’s fourth plinth, shot up on Monday - and increased further yesterday. It was the 698th most popular website in the UK yesterday, and the most visited site in our Performing Arts category. Visitors are currently spending an average of eight and a half minutes viewing the site when they visit.

Just 13.7% of One & Other’s traffic came from Google UK yesterday. The site’s second biggest source of visits was Twitter (9.9%), while Facebook (8.1%), and the Mayor of London’s homepage (6.9%) ranked third and fourth respectively. The event is being sponsored by Sky Arts, which was One & Other’s seventh biggest source of traffic. The sponsorship looks to have been successful: yesterday 12.5% of One & Other’s downstream traffic went to the Sky Arts homepage. As the chart below illustrates, the site has had its busiest every day on Monday (06/07/09), picking up 1 in every 44 visits to websites in our Entertainment – Art category.
