« MPs’ expenses update: Telegraph picks up 1 in every 756 UK page views | Mobile phone recycling searches treble »
UK Internet visits to Marks and Spencer’s website increased yesterday following the launch of its three day 125th anniversary ‘Penny Bazaar’ sale. While the traffic spike in the chart below doesn’t look huge, it’s important to remember that - as a retailer - M&S experiences significant daily peaks and troughs in traffic. In particular, visits typically spike on a Thursday, when the company sends out its weekly customer email. Comparing yesterdays (20/05/09) traffic with the previous Wednesday (13/05/09), UK visits to the site were up 94% week-on-week.

Update (26/05/09)
Looking at the weekly data, overall traffic to M&S's website was up 30.4% last week (when compared with the previous week). Wednesday was the indeed the site's busiest day during the sale period.
