« John Prescott and What Drives Consumer Search Behaviour | Pirates of the Caribbean - The Long Tail of Search »
In response to John Wards' comment on my last post regarding John Prescott and search behaviour, I am happy to mention Guido Fawkes blog and its growth over the past week. Though I will refrain from taking sides on who said what first. :)
The following chart shows the increase in visits to Guido Fawkes' blog along with Iain Dale's blog. Last week, Guido Fawkes' blog ranked 13th in the Hitwise - Blogs and Personal Websites category. Thanks for keeping me honest, John!

UPDATE:
I thought more about Anthony Mayfield's comment on my last post about measuring influence of bloggers and after reading Jeff Jarvis' post on the power of bloggers and this issue, I couldn't resist - and charted searches for "guido fawkes" versus "peter riddell". Neither visits not search term volume are a great measure of influence. The Times Online receives a much larger share of visits than Guido Fawkes' blog, and Guido Fawkes is more searched for online. However, the resulting chart (below) is interesting and to some extent supports Guido Fawkes' response to this article on the Guardian's site.
Also worth noting, the top search term sending visits to Guido Fawkes' blog in the past four weeks was "john prescott rosie winterton". Guido Fawkes' blog received 77% of visits from searches for this search query. The Times Online was the second highest recipient of visits from searches from the term, but the volume of visits from the query fell below the dectile cutoff and so was too low for us to report.
