Once the 2008 NCAA Tournament got underway last week, productivity in some workplaces probably suffered. With some of the initial games played during working hours, fans depended upon the Internet to watch the tournament games and keep up with the scores. The website for NCAA Sports March Madness on Demand, which offers both highlights and complete games, experienced a non-surprising surge in traffic last Thursday and Friday. During the weekend however, traffic declined somewhat while some shifted viewing to their televisions for the remainder of the games. During the first four days of the tournament, the average visit time was longest for both weekdays - Thursday with 16 minutes and 30 seconds followed by Friday with 13 minutes and 16 seconds.

Good thing the rest of the games don’t conflict with the work day for most, now we all just have to deal with the emails detailing the leaders of the office pools!
