Loren Baker over at Search Engine Journal requested that I update my chart from this post to include John Edwards. I intentionally omitted Edwards from the previous chart because our search term analysis reveals that over 15% of searchers for Edwards were actually looking for John Edward, TV personality and psychic (anyone catch the irony here, election predictions, psychic...)
Anyway Loren, here you go:

Would also be interesting to track the various memes that will emerge - for instance, Obama Madrassa or Obama Muslim in recent days.
If I were on a candidate's team I'd be doing some serious search term gap analysis to ensure getting my own facts out there - I bet these people have Hitwise.

Much like a John Edward cold read, I don't think that chart is telling the full story.
Would a better indicator of users interested in the political campaign be those visiting a 'Politics' category as opposed to 'All Categories'?
This might also cut down on those 15% of searchers looking for the "psychic".
I'd also be interested in seeing traffic comparisons between candidate's websites as the campaign heats up.
