Thanks again to Jarrod Agius (Hitwise Account Manager and honorary member of the Hitwise Research Team) for this interesting chart on searches for "Barry Bonds" and "Babe Ruth" over the last fifteen months. The spike in searches for Barry in March corresponds to the Sports Illustrated article in the March 7th edition that alleged Bond's steroid use in 1998.

Interestingly, searches on "babe ruth" spiked on the week of May 28th 2006, the same week that Bonds drove home #715 to pass Ruth's record. As we've done in the past, a look at the search term suggestions for "Barry Bonds" back in March reveals what was on the mind of U.S. internet users when the SI issue hit the stands,

and when Bonds hit #715:
